There are thousands of different strings and they vary in construction, material, colour, thickness, playability, durability and of course, price.

For some, playability is everything and are willing to pay more and restring more often, whilst chronic string breakers may look towards more durability for their money. 

The strings listed below are the best value in terms of playability and durability.

I have given each a rating so that you can more easily narrow your choice to suit your playing style (and pocket!)
